The first year of the Certificate in Education/PGCE(h) aims to give you, as a practicing teacher, the time and space to explore the role you are in.
Many of us fall into teaching with little knowledge of the depth and importance of the job. The Cert Ed will provide the depth of learning and the opportunity for deep discussion with peers to investigate what it really means to be an educator of the next generation of our subject.
This is not an extended CPD session! It is not a race to be endured! You will have to commit to the idea of enhancing your practice and, in some cases, discarding long held views of what the teacher's role is and to become an agent of change within your own team.
Look on this course as a challenge - it is! Come with an open-mind and a willingness to share, discuss and debate and to enjoy the experience.
