Former Wolves and Nigerian goalkeeper Carl Ikeme met with fans and signed copies of his book ‘Why not Me?’ as part of the Wolverhampton Literature Festival.

The book, co-written by Paul Berry, looks at the former footballers’ life on and off the pitch and discusses his year-long battle with leukaemia which forced him into an early retirement.

Carl made over 200 appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers before being diagnosed with leukaemia in 2017.

The book signing took place at Waterstones in Victoria Street, Wolverhampton.
